ADNT Sàrl

About

ADNT Sàrl, software & embedded engineering in Le Locle (Neuchâtel): where the name comes from, the founder's journey, our beliefs, where we work.

Where the name ADNT comes from

ADNT stands for Artisans des Nouvelles Technologies — artisans of new technologies. The name says where we start from: mastery of the craft, the code and the hardware. But a product that has to last cannot rest on the knowledge of a few people. Our job is to turn that mastery into a reproducible, testable, transferable process.

A workshop of artisans that industrialized without losing its touch: that is the story of the Jura Arc around us, in Le Locle, canton of Neuchâtel, the birthplace of watchmaking precision. It is also the one we offer your software.

The journey behind ADNT

ADNT was born from Florian Mahon’s journey: from IT (managing client fleets and servers) to desktop and real-time firmware development, from FPGA and EtherCAT environments to leading an eight-person software R&D department. Across very different contexts, the same problem kept appearing: making software work is one step; being able to build, test and deliver it reliably for years is another.

ADNT designs the architecture and develops the software and firmware of products that must work. We then industrialize how they are built, tested, secured and delivered. Not for the demo. Not for the steering committee. For the customer who receives your product, the operator who uses it, and the team that will maintain it three years from now.

What we believe

Engineering before technology

We love Rust, RISC-V, embedded AI and brand-new boards. But we will never sell you a stack you don’t need. The right tool is the one that solves your problem, not the one that makes the best LinkedIn post.

Tests are written before the code

TDD/BDD, firmware included. It feels slower at first. It saves weeks over time.

A build must be reproducible

If it only compiles on Marc’s machine, you don’t have a build. You have Marc.

No big bang

Full rewrites almost always fail. We transform by controlled increments, with a safety net — and you keep control over budget and scope, continuously.

Knowledge transfer is included

We don’t aim to become indispensable. At the end of an engagement, your team should be able to take over. It’s in everyone’s interest.

We say no when we should

If your request isn’t in our sweet spot, we say so. If the timeline is unrealistic, we say so. If the proposed architecture is a bad idea, we say so. Before signing, not after.
